No if I am not mistaken that is Big John, and he belongs to Ben.

Im gonna try to do what I can with identifying people.

But I'm starting at the bottom, cause I know those people for sure.

In the brown jacket, its me,  then Ben Glenn and his girlfriend Shelly. The dachsund is Shellys, and I can't remember his name, but it wasn't Big John, thinking they had to do something with Big John and got this one??????????

There were only a few people that actually post on the site that attended.  From this site, Betty, Robby & Donnie were there.  Jimmy Brooks, Melanie Tiemann, Sandy Harrell, Dee Riley & Todd Lungren as well.  Can't think of any others that actually post here.  Clay Holley and John Williams might?

Some read, but are not typers, and many of them just don't like computers due they live in the country and dial up is so slow.  Actually some that attended don't even do the computer thing.

I am so  sorry the class filled up and some missed out.  I wish we could have had more, but can only run so many dogs in one day.  Many came as handler only and said they really enjoyed and learned even though they didn't have their dog.  We fed 53 people for lunch on that Saturday.

If I missed anyone that post on here that were at the seminar, please post and let us know.  We would love to see if we can pull up a picture for everyone.

    Marlo,

I fall in that category of handler without a dog.  I would like to say that my brother (J.W. Reed) and I (John Reed) had a great day with you folks and really enjoyed the breakfast and lunch.  Marlo, you are my "Dog Whisperer".  I was really impressed with the sociological understanding you have with those dogs.  I hope some of it rubbed off on me.

Sorry I have been so long in responding but we have been moving from Lake Palo Pinto, Texas, to a small acreage near Richland Springs, Texas.  I hope to put my blood scenting dogs to work here starting in October.  I am already laying blood scenting trails and working my pups.

    Thanks again,

It was well worth the trip!

I have told many that I talked with how much I enjoyed y'all. Both of you add to the fun for me.  Thanks for letting me put you to work.  Both of you seemed really nice and very knowledgable about dogs yourself.  I know you will pick it right up.  I love to see people have the same passion for blood trailing as I do.  If you need to bounce anything off me, I am just a phone call or email away.  Again, really enjoyed.

Re: Photos from the Lacy Blood Trail Seminar, Feb.23rd.

I would love to do another, but weather is a factor.  You can use hides, but I really like to use the full animal carcass.  Having a full carcass helps me be able to motivate and pump training up another notch.  We can use exotic deer due to there isn't a season on them, but they are expensive and very hard to keep the meat fresh when weather is hot.  If one of the hunters pays for the animal, they want to take the meat home.

Whitetails season is over and all the ranches with special permits time has expired as well.  October can be good, but then we are getting into bow season and most blood trail people and dogs are very busy.  Sept. is still to hot.  End part of Feb. has worked at well, but we can only take so many dogs at one time.  Trying to figure out solutions at this time.

I will be at the fun day coming up Sandy's fixing to post about.  I will be working the blood trail section, but we will only be using the hide and not the full animal.  Most people will have already started their dog that come to this section, so a hide and meat will be fine.  Those that haven't I don't mind helping and getting as much as we can with what we have and can use.

Chad, can you check with the guy that provided us with hides last year?  That was great.  He provided so many that Chad was able to provide others to take home for more training time.

If you are interested in Blood Trailing your dog, I highly recommend you getting "Tracking Dogs for finding Wounded Game", book.  Here is the link on where to order:

    http://www.born-to-track.com/book/order-info.htm

If you start with the book and some of the training, anytime I help, we can go that much further.  If we have to start from scratch we can only go so far in one day.
