I looked for that book on Amazon too and the price was through the roof!  I found it on the website, Treetop Publications.  You can mail the author a check for $22.00 so that is what I am going to do (if they still have the book!).  I wonder if he knows what the sellers on Amazon are doing?

I put out my live trap where I had been feeding squirrels and caught.... a lil coon!  I will have to download the photos when I can find the dern cable for the camera.  Pearl wanted that coon.  I put the cage on top of one my chicken coops so the dogs couldn't reach the coon.  The BC mix started barking at it and that got Pearl going.  She gets all excited but doesn't bark much.

I am home today with a bug so I was cruising around on the internet and found Squirrel Training Scent for dogs.  Has anyone used that?  My squirrels are getting too smart!  As soon as the back door opens they scoot.  Won't even sit still for me to pop them with the .22.

Well yesterday afternoon didn't go too well for Toby...he is still pretty young and he was really excited and never really took the time to try and smell for the squirrel.

On a positive note...I let Remi have a try and after running some excitement out of her, she treed hard and we were able to shoot it out for her!

Funny part of the story...I couldn't find my shotgun before we let the squirrel go. Afterwards, we took a short walk through the woods to see if Remi would tree again and there my shotgun was, against the tree I had leaned it against last Friday! It sure is clean after the monsoon we had last weekend! It might need a small coat of RemOil now!
